Tritonia - Upright Selection

Tritonia - Upright Selection

$15.00

We’ve long grown two forms of Tritonia we originally received from Seneca Hills Nursery. One is typical of the plants of Tritonia disticha subsp. rubrolucens we see in cultivation, with pleated leaves and pendant pink flowers from arching, wiry stems, like a hardy Dierama. The other is a smaller, upright plant, with narrower foliage and flowers held facing outward from vertical stems, and we speculate that it may be D. drakensgergensis, though we didn’t receive it as such. Both forms Ellen acquired from Silverhill seed. These are corms from a cross between the two, which produced a taller, upright plant with large, outward facing flowers in August. Makes an excellent cut. 30” Flowering sized corm in a 3” pot. Sun and drainage, with minimal water needs. Z6, quart pot.
