A Salvia for the 21st century! This seedling popped up a few years ago in the quest to come up with a longer lived facsimile of Salvia omeiana “Crug Thundercloud”. It has similar hastate foliage, olive above and eggplant beneath, but the yellow flowers have a ruddy flush, reminiscent of ‘Gloomy’, an odd cv I once had. We have favored ½ shade where it has reached ca 30-32”. Z7 (at least). Alas, the quest has consumed our interest to the neglect of properly photographing , a common issima (ed) ailment you will have noted elsewhere in the catalog. Ships after April 1st.
