Easy and impressive tuberous hybrid of B. grandis and an unknown Bhutanese species. Of obscure origin, though it seems to have been in cultivation for some time. Enormous green leaves with red veined reverses and, like grandis, reproducing from bulbils in the leaf axils. Anecdotally hardy in the Philly area and has survived 5F in a sheltered spot here in L.C., so likely hardy to lower Z7. Fully deciduous and easily stored for the winter in colder areas. Quart pots.
